Good News

What is the Good News?

Friend, we thank you for visiting our website to gain information about Cumberland Bible Church. More importantly, we want to give you the greatest message from God's Word - a message that can truly change your life - His gift of Salvation!

AM I A SINNER?

Sin is something all of us have. We cannot hide it from God, He hates sin. Sin leads to eternal separation from God.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

WHAT SHALL I DO ABOUT MY SIN?

We cannot give God something nice to make him forget our sin. We cannot become a better, kinder person to cover it up.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. (Titus 3:5)

WHAT DID GOD DO ABOUT MY SIN?

God has done everything. God gave His Son to be our Savior. God put Jesus on a cross to die for our sin, in our place.

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

HOW WAS THIS ACCOMPLISHED?

Jesus paid for all our sins by dying, shedding His blood, and then rising from the grave and going back to heaven.

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but quickened by the Spirit.(I Peter 3:18)

WHAT MUST I DO?

God asks us to believe on Him to take away our sin. Believing is trusting what God did for us. When we believe that His death was for us, He gives us eternal life. Will you believe now that Jesus died in your place?

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. (John 1:12)

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.(John 3:16)
